Tamara Carlson received both her Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, completing her Juris Doctorate degree in 2001. Prior to starting her own firm, Tamara worked in the Missouri Attorney General's Office in the habeas divison and then later in the labor division. After working for the Attorney General's Office, she worked in the private sector for a while. She also worked for a time in the Caruthersville Prosecuting Attorney's Office, in the Ripley County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and most recently in the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney's Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Tamara has also defended cases in Southeast Missouri while she worked for the Missouri Public Defender System for over eight years. She has been practicing in the southeast or “bootheel” area for the past fifteen years. Tamara has won several jury trials as both prosecutor and defense. Having been a former prosecutor gives Tamara a unique perspective to be able to critically analyze criminal cases for the best results in criminal matters. Her experience in a variety of areas of the law helps her to be well rounded. She primarily practices in criminal defense, traffic matters, and landlord/tenant issues.
